ERASMUS+ Beyond Europe
The ERASMUS+ mobility program with partner countries enables the exchange of students, doctoral candidates and staff of the OVGU with partner universities outside the EU.
This program is coordinated by Ms. Reena Schliephake in consultation with the departments. Analogous to the ERASMUS+ Mobility program with program countries, ECTS credits are acquired which are accepted by the home university on the basis of the Bologna Agreement.

Erasmus+ Inclusion and Top-Ups
Students with fewer opportunities can receive a so-called top up of 250 EUR per month in addition to the regular Erasmus+ mobility grant. Students from the following categories are eligible:
- Students with a degree of disability of at least 20 or with a chronic illness. You can also apply for a grant that pays the real additional costs of your mobility abroad that are directly derived from the disability or the chronic illness. This grant is limited to 15,000 EUR per semester or 30,000 EUR per year.
- Students with children. This only applies if the child is travelling and staying with you during your mobility. We strongly recommend to consult us early in advance if you intend you bring your child(ren) with you, there might also be an option to apply for refunding of the actual costs for your child.
- Students from a non-academic background. Students whose parents or caregivers have not finished a higher education degree are considered as first-time academics. A degree from a university-like vocational academy is considered an academic degree. Likewise, courses of study completed abroad count as academic degrees even if they are not recognized in Germany. A master craftsman's diploma is not considered an academic degree.
You must confirm your belonging to one or more of these groups by sworn declaration. Please note, that you are only able to receive one Top-Up, even if you would be eligible for multiple of these groups. Only the increased travel allowance "Green Travel" can be combined with an application for a Top-Up for fewer opportunities. Please make sure to carefully read through the conditions and information on page 2 of the sworn declaration, to verify if you are actually eligible to receive the chosen Top-Up and also note eventual obligations to provide proof.
